Setting scan options

You can now set various options which alter how the scan works.

First time round, why not leave these settings at their defaults.

Add entries for off-site links If this box is checked, then a link off the site generates a Contents entry.
For example, a link to PHD at http://www.phdcc.com/ would generate such an entry.
Case is significant If this box is checked, then the case of link files is preserved. This is significant where a page is linked to from different places. Normally TEST.HTM and test.htm are assumed to be the same file, and not scanned twice. But if this box is checked then the two files are assumed to be different.
Ignore blank anchors An anchor is a link point within a web page, eg the top at the end of test.htm#top.
An anchor is defined with the following HTML, for example: <A NAME=top>Top of page</A>. If 'Use anchors as keywords' (below) is checked, the scanner makes an Index keyword phrase Top of page link to test.htm#top.
A problem arises if there is no text Top of page, ie a blank anchor.
So, if this box is checked, an Index keyword phrase of top would be made for the HTML <A NAME=top></A>.
No title: ignore page Normally the scanner follows all links in each page that it finds.
However if this box is checked and the page has no title, then the links are not scanned. This reduces the number of pages scanned for unimportant pages.
Parse all Normally the scanner only follows links which end in htm or html, ie links to other web pages. If this box is selected then the extension is ignored, ie all links are followed. Note that links to gif and jpg files are never followed.
Use anchors as keywords An anchor is a link point within a web page, eg the top at the end of test.htm#top.
An anchor is defined with the following HTML, for example: <A NAME=top>Top of page</A>. If this box is checked, the scanner makes an Index keyword phrase Top of page link to test.htm#top.
Turn this option off to reduce the size of your index file.
