Licence Types

A Personal licence lets you use the FindinSite-CD development kit on one computer, distribute the FindinSite-CD runtime on 200 CDs with a maximum of 200 files.  You can put the FindinSite-CD runtime on one web site, displaying a maximum of 200 files.

A Standard licence lets you use the FindinSite-CD development kit on one computer, distribute the FindinSite-CD runtime on 1000 CDs, and put the FindinSite-CD runtime on one web site.

A Gold licence lets you use the FindinSite-CD development kit on one computer, distribute the FindinSite-CD runtime on 3000 CDs, and put the FindinSite-CD runtime on four web sites.

A Professional Subscription licence lets you use the FindinSite-CD development kit on one computer.  You can put the FindinSite-CD runtime on any number of CDs in the year after purchase and 10,000 CDs in total if not produced in the first year.  You can put the FindinSite-CD runtime on 10 permanent web sites.  "Pro Sub" licence holders are told by email after purchasing about additional configuration options, eg how to change the FindinSite-CD icon and how to change or remove the help text.

In the above description, a web site is one or more search pages for a single web site in any location, eg on the Internet, Intranet, Extranet, etc. Note that FindinSite-CD may run slowly on any web site, because it is primarily designed for CD-ROMs and product help systems where the large search database files can be accessed quickly.

Purchasing

Before buying a findinsite-cd license, please check carefully for any problems running findinsite-cd using Internet Explorer under Windows XP SP2 (or later). Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows XP has a serious effect on locally-served active content. It is your responsibility to confirm that your use of findinsite-cd does not run into problems with XP SP2. We are unable to give refunds related to XP SP2+ problems. [This text added 9 May 2006.]

When you purchase a licence you just receive a licence id, ie you do not receive a copy of the software. Just plug the licence id into the latest version of the free development kit - in FindinSite-CD-Wizard select menu Help+Enter licence ids... and follow the instructions. You must have Administrator priviledge to enter the licence id.

Keep checking the PHD FindinSite-CD site for free upgrades, ie just download newer development kits.

You may redistribute unaltered copies of the FindinSite-CD free development kit. Please let us know if you do this, so we can keep people informed of any new releases.
